The man, from the eastern Japanese prefecture of Ibaraki, allegedly placed his partner's three-year-old daughter into a washing machine and started it three weeks ago. The girl's mother immediately noticed something was wrong when the machine began filling with water and spinning, and she notified the police.
Her partner was accused of causing the child injury, according to the Kyodo agency.
The indictment indicates that the child sustained injuries to her face and legs. The girl has already recovered.
The police arrested the father immediately after the incident. Japanese press reports that the 30-year-old was drunk at the time of the incident. The suspect denies the charges.
Death penalty for Japanese man
Other dreadful events occurred in Kofu, in the Yamanashi prefecture of Japan. A 21-year-old was sentenced to death for double murder. The man killed the parents of a high school girl he was fascinated with and set her house on fire. The court found that he was sane and acted with premeditation to harm the object of his affection in this gruesome way.
According to the prosecution, in October 2021, the then-19-year-old Endo went to the house of the girl he had a crush on and stabbed her parents. He then struck her younger sister with a machete and set the house on fire—the high school girl whom the sentenced man attended was not injured. The boy turned himself into the authorities. He wrote a letter admitting he harboured resentment toward his high school classmate because she rejected his romantic advances.
