Jack Wilshere and his wife were leading a peaceful life until they discovered that their five-year-old daughter, Siena, had a congenital heart defect. In a documentary for the BBC, the couple reminisced about those moments.

Jack Wilshere has not been an active player since 2022. His last club was the Danish team Aarhus GF. Afterwards, the former midfielder focused on coaching. Currently, he is fulfilling his role as a coach for Arsenal's youth team.

However, no one knew the hell the 32-year-old was going through. The matter concerns his daughter Siena, who was born in 2018. At the age of five, the girl was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. In the documentary aired by the BBC, the couple recalled the moment they learned this news.

- I was preparing to travel with my team for a match, just as we usually do for away games. Then my phone rang - said Wilshere. With tears in her eyes, the former footballer's wife, Andriani, recalled the moment. - I remember falling to the floor and crying. I simply couldn't believe the news. It was shocking - she said.

Family drama

Wilshere admitted that he was afraid he might lose his daughter. Fortunately, the couple realized something was wrong with Siena's health.

- She had chest infections, tonsillitis, frequently took antibiotics, and we continuously visited the doctor's office. They told us it was caused by asthma. I noticed, especially at children's birthday parties or when she was on the trampoline, that the more she exercised, the more often she had coughing fits - highlighted Andriani Wilshere.

In March 2024, Siena underwent a complicated heart surgery. It lasted for five hours. Fortunately, it went well, and the five-year-old is currently recovering.

- I was a footballer, I underwent many surgeries, and I know how hard it is to recover, and that is nothing compared to what she went through as a five-year-old - concluded Jack Wilshere.
