The bistro owner in Aosta, in the north of Italy, has set a reward for finding a waiter. The restaurateur offered a coupon worth approximately £260 to the person who helps him find an employee - reports PAP. - I've tried everything, he explained. In recent years, just before the peak tourist season in Italy, thousands of workers are missing in hotels, dining establishments, and on beaches, including lifeguards as well.
Appeal in social media
The local newspaper "Gazzetta Matin" reported that the owner of the establishment, located in the city centre, published an appeal on social media to anyone who can introduce him to a person interested in the job. If hired, restaurateur Luca Tentoni offers a coupon worth approximately £260 to be spent at his place or in a clothing store.
"Honestly, I don't know how else to look for employees. We've posted ads on specialised sites, on social media, but we've only received one response," said Tentoni in a conversation with the newspaper.
Crisis in the industry
"I know all too well, he added, that a similar situation is almost everywhere, as I've learned from my conversations with colleagues in the industry. Now we only get someone who's interested in part-time work over the weekend," he added. "And we offer a full-time permanent contract, but it seems to interest no one," stated the restaurateur from Aosta.
