Israeli airstrikes escalate conflict in Gaza, 32 dead
As a result of Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, at least 32 people have been killed. The escalation of the conflict continues despite international appeals for peace. A vehicle belonging to the charity organisation World Central Kitchen was attacked.
According to local medical sources, at least 32 people have been killed due to Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army stated that during one of the attacks, they managed to eliminate a terrorist responsible for the assault on 7 October 2023.
In Gaza, seven people lost their lives as a consequence of the airstrike. The attack on the town of Jabalia had similarly tragic results, with a member of the local civil defence killed. Over more than a year of conflict in the Gaza Strip, a total of 88 rescuers have lost their lives.
Attack on a vehicle in Khan Yunis
In the southern part of the Strip, near a food aid distribution point in Khan Yunis, Israeli aircraft struck a vehicle, resulting in the deaths of nine people. According to Hamas sources, the vehicle was used by personnel overseeing the distribution of humanitarian aid.
The Israeli army claims that a wanted terrorist was killed in the Khan Yunis attack, and there are suspicions he was linked to the American organisation World Central Kitchen. The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that among the victims were three local employees of WCK.
In the face of the escalating conflict, a Hamas delegation travelled to Egypt for talks on a ceasefire. Despite mediation attempts by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, the negotiations have not yet achieved a permanent resolution. The conflict, which began after the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October, has resulted in the deaths of thousands and a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
