Israel launches preemptive strike on Hezbollah amid rising tensions
The Israel Defense Forces conducted a preemptive strike on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, triggering a series of rocket responses. What kind of air force does Israel have?
According to The Times of Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a preemptive strike on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. Approximately 100 fighter jets were involved in the operation, attacking thousands of rocket launchers intended for attacks on Israel. The IDF reported that most launchers were aimed at the northern part of the country, with some targeting the centre.
Escalation of tensions at the border
In response to the Israeli strike, Hezbollah launched hundreds of rockets towards northern Israel. Alarm sirens sounded in many northern cities, and the Israeli army remained on high alert, defending the territory against further attacks from Lebanon.
Further actions
The Israeli military continues operations to eliminate threats from Hezbollah. Defence Minister Yoav Gallant declared a state of emergency for 48 hours, allowing the military to issue orders and restrictions to protect the civilian population. The IDF remains on alert, monitoring the situation and preparing for possible additional attacks from Hezbollah.
Israel's air force
Today, Israel's air force has some of the most technologically advanced aircraft in the world. The IDF's arsenal includes machines like the F-35 Lightning II, which are capable of performing a wide range of missions, including precision strikes, reconnaissance missions, and electronic warfare. Additionally, Israel is one of the few countries that can boast its own aviation industry, producing unmanned aircraft, among other technologies.
Israel's air force is known for numerous innovations and the implementation of modern technologies. One key element of their strategy includes unmanned systems, such as the Heron and Hermes drones, which play significant roles in reconnaissance and combat missions. Israel also has advanced missile defence systems, like the Iron Dome, which effectively protects against rocket attacks from neighbouring territories.
