Islamic State's chilling threat to Champions League quarterfinals

ISIS reminds us of itself again. The Islamic State has posted a graphic online suggesting the possibility of a terrorist attack at one of the football stadiums. "Kill them all" was written ahead of the quarterfinal matches of the Champions League, set to take place in England, France, and Spain.

More excitement related to the Champions League is ahead of us. It's a safe bet that a lot will happen during the upcoming matches. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we will witness the first round in the battle for the semifinals.

Meanwhile, just before the competition, there was disturbing news. It's about the Islamic State threatening an attack during the Champions League quarter-final matches.

The Islamic State threatens an attack in the Champions League quarterfinals. It publishes a picture with the slogan "Kill them all" and the names of four stadiums, where the game will unfold this week - reports the Spanish service ondacero.es.

Four locations have been mentioned: Emirates Stadium, Parc des Princes, Wanda Metropolitano, and Santiago Bernabeu. The matches on these grounds are Arsenal London—Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain—FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid—Borussia Dortmund, and Real Madrid—Manchester City.

In two of these matches, we should see representatives from Poland. It is, of course, about Jakub Kiwior (Arsenal London) and Robert Lewandowski (FC Barcelona).
A macabre graphic from ISIS is circulating online. It can be seen to show blood in stadiums and flames. Besides the mentioned locations, the slogan "Kill them all" appears.

Spain reacts to the threat

ISIS had made similar announcements before. Ultimately, however, no acts of terrorism occurred. Should we be worried now?

Even so, services do not take such signals lightly. For example, the fourth level of a five-tier terror alert system has been established in Spain. The same goes for England and France, where services thoroughly check fans and stadium areas.
