"The attack happens amidst the ongoing war between the Islamic State and nations opposing Islam," Amaq stated in a message accompanying the photos.
In the attack near Moscow, over 130 people were killed and more than 140 were injured.
Russia aims to blame Ukraine for the attack
The Islamic State confirmed its responsibility for the devastating attack in Russia on Friday evening. Despite this, there are suggestions that Russia attempted to connect the terrorist act to Ukraine, even though Ukrainian officials strongly refute any involvement by Kyiv.
Russian officials announced on Saturday that they had detained 11 individuals linked to the attack, including four suspects directly involved in the incident.
The Amaq outlet is frequently the first to report ISIS terrorists claiming responsibility for terror attacks. In March 2019, the U.S. State Department marked it as a "foreign terrorist organization".
