Iran attacked Israel with drones and missiles. In response to the attack, residents of Tehran massively rushed to gas stations for fuel. The first recordings showing long queues of cars waiting for their turn have appeared online.

Iran launched dozens of drones towards Israel on Saturday evening. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that Iranian missiles are also in the air. Air defence systems are already operational over Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, including the famous Iron Dome.

In the meantime, Iranians - upon hearing of the attack - headed to gas stations for fuel. The first recordings from Tehran have appeared on social media, showing queues of cars waiting for their turn.

Recordings from other Middle Eastern countries, including Lebanon, have also appeared online.

Not everyone rushed for fuel, though. Residents of Tehran also took to the streets to celebrate the attack on Israel. Social media simultaneously featured recordings showing Iranians who gathered and celebrated the attack.

"The attack ends the matter"

The Iranian attack on Israel was in response to the Israeli attack on a diplomatic post in Damascus, and the matter may be considered closed - announced on the X platform on Saturday by the permanent representation of Iran to the UN. Iran also warned Israel and the USA against "another mistake".

"Conducted on the strength of Article 51 of the UN Charter pertaining to legitimate defense, Iran’s military action was in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against our diplomatic premises in Damascus. The matter can be considered closed," - informed the diplomatic mission of Iran to the UN. "However, should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran’s response will be considerably more severe. It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the U.S. MUST STAY AWAY!" - added the mission.

The Israeli authorities had previously announced that any Iranian retaliation would meet with an Israeli response.

The Israeli attack on the Iranian post in Damascus took place on April 1, resulting in the death of seven officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, including two high-ranking commanders. Israel denied that the struck area was a diplomatic site.
