Dating apps often fail, prompting people to search for love in unusual ways. Vera Dijkmans, a Dutch model and influencer living in London, who has amassed over 5 million followers on Instagram, came up with an unconventional idea. She decided to screen her potential partners through a detailed 15-question form.

The questions that candidates had to answer were the following:

  1. What is your zodiac sign?
  2. Number of ex-girlfriends, number of "crazy" ones, and with how many of them do you still keep in touch (count those you drink with too)?
  3. Do you have children?
  4. Do you want to have children?
  5. Are you currently married/in a relationship?
  6. Do you have a full-time job?
  7. If you had to describe yourself with three adjectives, would "jerk" be one of them?
  8. Do you live with your parents?
  9. Do you have a working car?
  10. Do you have Twitter?
  11. Do you currently receive "booty calls"?
  12. If we lived together, would you give me the closet space?
  13. Is flirting with my friends acceptable?
  14. Do you like watching "Avatar: The Last Airbender"?
  15. Who is the best artist: The Weeknd, Future, Drake, or Travis Scott?

She searched for a boyfriend using a test. None of them passed

Choosing the one was not easy because the model received 5,000 submissions. Vera had to go through many "weird" messages. "One man proposed sending a sample of his blood and asked for mine in return, which I ignored," she said, adding that a known celebrity also sent her a message.

"I got around 5,000 submissions, but after reviewing most of them, I found that only three men met my requirements," said Vera. One of the candidates lived with his parents and did not have a car, but had two boats. Another declared that he would never flirt with her friends—which should be obvious. The third boasted a full-time job but didn't want to give up the closet space.

The Dutch model went on dates with each of the three selected men, but she was unable to establish a deeper connection with any of them. "I went on dates with them, but I'm still single," she lamented.

The model prefers to be single than to give up her needs

Despite the disappointing outcome and rejecting thousands of men, Vera considers the experiment a success because she was able to clearly define what she is looking for and see if there are men who meet her criteria. The model also remains hopeful about finding the ideal partner.

"For now, I have paused my search for a boyfriend, but I'm not closing myself off to possibilities," she said, adding that she does not plan another round of submissions on her social media. "I'm very picky and need a man who is almost perfect," she continued. "I don't think I should give up my needs—I prefer to be single until I find the man who is meant for me," she concluded.
