In November of the preceding year, Iga Świątek triumphed at the WTA Finals, finishing 2023 as the leader of the WTA world ranking. In Mexico, Świątek didn't only excel on the court, she also caused quite a stir at a photo shoot, which took place during the draw for the highly regarded competition.

During the formal drawing ceremony, Świątek turned heads in a wonderful red dress designed by the Polish designer, Magda Butrym. The dress itself generated international buzz, and the tennis player shone brightly amongst the other players, who were dressed in lighter dresses that day.

Iga Świątek's dress is sold, the buyer spends a substantial amount

The beautiful red dress found a new owner, as the 22-year-old, together with the designer, offered it up for auction as part of the 32nd finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The auction came to a close on February 7 precisely at 10:54 AM Greenwich Time, with 37 bidders bidding for the dress. The ultimately successful bidder will pay a substantial sum, as much as £12,750.

It's worth noting this isn't the first time Świątek has lent her support to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. In 2021, the racket she used to win Roland Garros 2020 was also auctioned. They paid as much as £25,500 then. Two years later, Świątek included the racket she used to win the tournament in Rome, as well as a joint training session in the auction. The buyer had to shell out over £37,500 for such a set. Last year, the auction included double invitations to her match in Roland Garros 2023 as well as a racket signed by her. The winner of the auction had to pay an impressive £58,500.
