Ian Callum resurrects Jaguar's C‑X75 for UK roads
The C-X75 is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular Jaguar projects. Looking at the photos, it's hard to believe that it debuted 14 years ago. Much of this is thanks to Ian Callum, the brand's former designer, who now runs his own automotive company. He was the one who decided to resurrect the C-X75.
Callum acquired one of the four pre-production units used in the movie "Spectre" and modified it to meet the homologation requirements for the United Kingdom.
The car has, among other things, a quieter exhaust, a catalyser, and a new control map for the five-litre V8. Originally, the C-X75 was to be powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, supported by a gas turbine. However, the units that appeared in the film were equipped with the "ordinary" V8.
The car also received a completely new paint job and improved bodywork - in short, Ian Callum made it closer to the production version. Unfortunately, we do not know the cost of these modifications. It is also difficult to say who is the lucky owner of the only approved unit.
We might learn more details on 20 April, as that is when the official premiere of the C-X75 resurrected by Callum will take place, UK time.
