Tomatoes are a real treasure trove of vitamins and minerals. No wonder they reign in the kitchen. They are suitable not only for breakfast but also for lunch and dinner. How do you grow them yourself? Check it out below.

Homegrown Tomatoes

Most often, people with gardens decide to grow tomatoes, as they can easily allocate a spot for a vegetable garden. Recently, it's also become common to grow them on balconies. However, you need to know how to do it properly.

Tomatoes are extremely demanding. They require the right soil and, above all, the right growth conditions. They thrive best in a warm yet humid environment. This is why they are often grown in tunnels. Regular watering is also crucial.

To be able to pick tomatoes from the bushes later, we also need to fertilize them properly, for example, with manure or compost. This is especially important during the flowering and fruiting periods.

Do this, and the tomatoes won’t crack

Sometimes, tomatoes start to crack. This can be easily prevented. Just remove the leaves from the lower part of the plant. We should also consider removing its side shoots, which should be broken off just above the main shoot.

Don't throw away the removed parts. They're easy to root, allowing you to grow delicious tomatoes from them in the future.

If we remember all these actions, we will prevent the tomatoes from cracking so much and minimize the risk of fungal diseases.
