External blinds provide good protection,” advises Angelika Mazurkiewicz, an architect from AM2 Design Studio, in an interview with WO. However, it is important not to close them completely to allow airflow.
Shutters, awnings, and UV films play similar roles. The latter's advantage is certainly the price. The expert's methods are intended to lower room temperatures by even 10°C.
The architect also suggests that thermal curtains made of thick material furnish the apartment in light colours, which disperse light and do not absorb heat as much as dark colours.
In her interview with "WO," Mazurkiewicz also advised limiting the use of electrical devices during the hottest days, as they generate additional heat.
