Homemade white Nutella: A healthier take on a sweet classic

Nutella is known and loved by almost everyone, but it cannot be denied that it is not the healthiest snack. The homemade white version, however, is an entirely different story. You can indulge in such a sweet cream without any guilt.

It doesn't have as much sugar as the original, and you won't find any palm oil. Homemade white Nutella is largely based on a true treasure of American orchards - apples. White chocolate is added to the jar to avoid it being too plain. A simple recipe that will allow you to enjoy a delicious, healthy, and homemade sweet cream all year round.

Recipe for homemade Nutella

White Nutella with Apples works great for pancakes, crispy waffles, or toast, although it is so tasty that it's often caught being eaten straight from the jar with a spoon. Apples provide many vitamins and minerals, and white chocolate is a delight for the palate.

The ingredient list is short, and the preparation is truly quick. Tasty apples can be bought all year round, so you can make white Nutella on demand whenever you're in the mood for sweets. It's worth adding sugar gradually, as it may turn out that the apples are so sweet that it won't be necessary to add more sweetness.

Ingredients:

  • 2 kg of apples (e.g., Antonovka, Grey Pippin),
  • 400 g of white chocolate,
  • 240 ml of water,
  • 80 g of sugar.
  • Method of preparation:

              
    1. Peel the apples, remove the seed cores, and chop them into small cubes.
    2. Transfer the chopped apples to a blender and blend them into a smooth puree, adding a cup of water.
    3. Transfer the apple puree to a pot and add sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until the mixture thickens and acquires a jam-like consistency.
    4. Break the white chocolate into smaller pieces and add to the cooking apple puree. Stir gently until the chocolate is completely melted and combined with the apples.
    5. Transfer the hot mixture to sterilised jars and seal tightly. Once cooled, store in the refrigerator.

    You can enhance the flavour of the Nutella by adding a pinch of cinnamon, vanilla extract, or lemon zest. Perfect for dessert, great for pancakes, crepes, waffles, and even layering cakes. Enjoy!
