How can you enhance the taste of coffee without using sugar or milk? There are plenty of ideas for this. One comes from Greece. Coffee with the addition of tahini, or sesame paste, is particularly favoured in that country. It not only has a unique taste but also offers numerous health benefits.

What is this paste

Tahini paste, which can be added to coffee, is well-known in Middle Eastern cuisine. It is used in popular dishes like hummus, and halva is also made from it. You can buy it ready-made or prepare it yourself. It's not complicated; simply blend roasted sesame seeds with olive oil. Making coffee with tahini is even simpler. Just add a teaspoon of tahini to coffee with milk and mix the drink until it has a smooth consistency.

It has plenty of fibre

This drink offers many health-promoting properties. It is an excellent source of protein and healthy fats, as well as fibre, which benefits the intestines. Regular consumption of coffee with tahini may help lower cholesterol levels, improve memory and concentration, and assist in weight management. Additionally, it has anti-ageing effects and helps ease inflammation.

How the Greek women do it

Sesame paste has an intense flavour, so adjust the amount to your preference. How do you brew coffee with it? It's worth taking a cue from Greek women. Pour finely ground coffee into a small pot, add water, and mix. Bring the coffee to a boil. Place an appropriate amount of tahini in a cup and gradually pour in the coffee, stirring constantly. When the tahini dissolves, Greek coffee with tahini is ready. It has a nutty taste, and sugar is not needed at all.
