29-year-old Abubakar Tahiru, an environmental activist and forestry student from Ghana, has set a Guinness World Record for hugging the most trees in one hour. The man embraced 1,123 plants, a feat no one else has accomplished before. It will be interesting to see who dares to break this truly remarkable record.

Abubakar Tahiru hugged 1,123 trees within one hour (averaging 19 tree hugs per minute), setting a Guinness World Record. The event occurred in Tuskegee National Forest in the state of Alabama, USA, where he is currently studying.

He emphasized that he wanted to draw attention to the need to protect forests.

Achieving this record gives immense satisfaction. (...) It's a significant gesture that highlights the key role of trees in our ecosystem and the urgent need for environmental protection, the 29-year-old said.

The man also revealed that the most challenging aspect during the attempt was moving quickly between trees, ensuring each hug met the required standards. Otherwise, the record would have been lost.

It is worth mentioning that the 29-year-old attempted this during Ramadan, so he could not even drink water while attempting the record. But that did not stop him, and he finally succeeded.

Rules for awarding an official Guinness World Record

Let's emphasize that the environmental activist and forestry student from Ghana had to adhere to strictly defined rules. The most important one is that no tree can be hugged more than once.

Meanwhile, a hug is defined as embracing the trunk with both arms, without causing any damage to it. Otherwise, the candidate would be disqualified. The student from Ghana had to be careful not to harm the trees while hugging them.
