Germany heightens military readiness amid Russia's growing arsenal

As the German Defence Minister informed, Russia is producing more weapons than it needs during the war in Ukraine and is already filling up its stockpiles. Boris Pistorius warns that Vladimir Putin's actions are not accidental.

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said Russia is producing weapons in quantities greater than its needs during the war. Currently, the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation is already working on filling up the stockpiles.

Pistorius stressed that with the increase in weapon spending and the improvement of the military economy, "a large part or a portion of the produced weapons no longer goes to the front, but precisely to the stockpiles.

Now, one can be naive and say that he (Vladimir Putin - ed.) is doing this only and exclusively out of caution. Being a sceptic, I would say in this case that he is doing it because he has plans for more wars, or he might have them - said the German politician.

Are Germans afraid of war?

The German Defence Minister insists that the armed forces be "ready for war." As he emphasised, he began the reform with a new army structure. It is to be ready by this autumn, less than a year after he took office as the head of defence.

The goal is to rebuild the Bundeswehr in its structures so that it is optimally prepared even for the most serious case, (...) in case of war - said Pistorius to journalists.

Among the changes introduced by the federal government is the transformation of cybernetics and computing into a full-fledged military branch on par with the Navy, Air Force, and Land forces. The German federal government has planned defence spending for approximately £61 billion this year.
