German tourist hospitalized after attack by Ibiza chef
It was a nightmare for a German tourist on Ibiza. He visited one of the local restaurants, but the meal he ordered did not meet his expectations, so he informed the staff. The chef reacted so aggressively that the German tourist ended up in hospital.
The third-largest island in the Balearics attracts partygoers from all over the world in the summer. Ibiza is also home to peaceful towns with narrow streets, a unique atmosphere, UNESCO-listed sites, and extraordinary nature reserves.
When the holiday partygoers leave the island, in the autumn, retirees, including many Germans, eagerly relax there. One of them will not have fond memories of his stay on the island. The chef of a well-known restaurant on Ibiza attacked him when he complained about the food.
The chef attacked the dissatisfied customer
The 72-year-old German tourist went to the establishment with his partner and friends. He was not satisfied with the meal and sent it back to the kitchen, arguing that the dish was not what he ordered and, in addition, was of poor quality. The chef reacted aggressively. He came into the dining area and allegedly attacked the customer.
First, he shouted aggressively, and then he lunged at the German tourist and pushed him with such force that he fell, hitting his back and neck. While the victim was lying on the floor, the chef reportedly smashed a plate with food on the floor and continued to insult the elderly German man.
The tourist went to the nearest health centre, where he was diagnosed with only minor bruises. After a few days, when he still felt unwell, he returned to the facility. He was immediately transported to Son Espases Hospital in Palma for surgery, as it turned out he had two blood clots in his chest that made it difficult for him to breathe.
As a result, the restaurant chef, a 37-year-old Spaniard, was arrested on charges of serious bodily harm.
