From £40,000 to fame: Tristan Weigelt's tattoo journey and search for love

Tristan Weigelt is originally from America but has settled permanently in Copenhagen, where he nurtures his passion for tattoos. He is a prime example of this passion, as intricate designs cover as much as 95 per cent of his body. The entire tattooing process was supposed to take around 270 hours and cost over £40,000.

Weigelt proudly showcases his tattoos, enjoying significant popularity on social media. Over 67,000 people follow his Instagram profile, and he has also gathered a substantial fanbase on TikTok, where he answers questions from internet users, not only about his numerous body artworks.

His distinctive appearance makes his friends in the city feel like they are on a grand outing with a celebrity. He claims that people mostly react positively to his tattoos, and the comments left by his followers also attest to this.

Unfortunately, such an original look also has its downsides. For Tristan, this means difficulties forming relationships with women who are not always willing to meet someone with such an unusual appearance. He sometimes encounters unfriendly looks in everyday life, which can be tiring. However, he says that he ignores it.

He confessed in an interview with Daily Star he hasn't faced any other unpleasant consequences. He says people on the street can stare at him, but he doesn't pay attention to it.

His parents are not fans of his new look either. They are extremely critical of his decision and cannot come to terms with it, even though many years have passed.

My mum would hate it though - he said directly.
