From football to prison: Luke Foster's drastic life turn

The twists of fate for Luke Foster after ending his football career have been strange indeed. The Englishman was sentenced to three years in prison. His former partner, now Jamie Vardy's wife, is furious about this.

Luke Foster may not have played for the biggest clubs in England, but he enjoyed a professional football career spanning over fifteen years. His CV includes, among others, Sheffield Wednesday, Oxford United, and Preston North End.

Luke Foster's football career ended in 2020, and shortly thereafter, the Englishman lost three years of his life. Luke Foster received a prison sentence for illegally cultivating marijuana. He has already been sent to a prison in Nottingham.

Luke Foster was previously in a six-year relationship with Rebekah Vardy, who later married another footballer, Jamie Vardy. In 2010, the couple welcomed their only son into the world and separated in 2013.

Among other reasons, because of their son, now a teenager, Rebekah Vardy is furious with her former partner. She will not be able to rely on Luke Foster's support as a father for the next three years.

"Her sole concern is to protect her son — making sure he’s surrounded by people who love him and that this has zero impact on his education and anything else that could affect a teenage boy," The Sun newspaper quotes its source.

Rebekah Vardy and Luke Foster did not part on good terms almost a decade ago. The footballer accused the woman of being mercenary and having an affair. Rebekah Vardy insisted that she only started the next relationship after the previous one had ended. Time healed the relationship between the former lovers, who started new families and shared parental responsibilities.
