Fenugreek infusion: A natural boost for weight loss and wellness

The best ally for maintaining a healthy figure is a proper diet. However, it's worth considering natural weight loss aids that can expedite your goals. Rather than adding this spice to meats and stews, try pouring boiling water over it. The infusion will not only warm you up on a chilly day, but also contribute to your overall well-being.

Fenugreek infusion remains relatively unknown in our country. Nevertheless, it's worth incorporating into your diet, as this modest cup of herbal tea offers valuable properties for the body. It's a genuine gem of natural medicine, often associated with oriental cuisine. The nutrients contained within have beneficial effects on both the digestive and immune systems and can even support weight loss.

Health benefits of fenugreek

Fenugreek is a plant from the legume family, renowned for its numerous health benefits. Thanks to flavonoids, mucilaginous compounds, and saponins, it has anti-inflammatory effects and lowers blood sugar levels. The vitamins and minerals it contains nourish skin cells, hair, and nails, improving their condition and slowing the ageing process.

Fenugreek is a true treasure trove of soluble fibre, which forms a gel-like substance in the stomach, thereby delaying digestion and providing a feeling of fullness for an extended period. This effectively suppresses hunger between meals. The fibre has a beneficial effect on bowel function, potentially alleviating the problem of unpleasant and painful constipation.

Fenugreek also serves as a natural cosmetic. It nourishes the skin, hair, and nails, enhancing their appearance. Additionally, it speeds up metabolism, helping to burn more calories and reduce fat absorption. Fenugreek is a true treasure of nature, rich in protein, fibre, and a variety of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, folic acid, and iron.

How to use fenugreek?

Infusions made from its seeds support the digestive system, reducing bloating and constipation, and also aid in the assimilation of minerals. Fenugreek seeds impart a characteristic, slightly bitter taste and aroma to dishes. As a result, they add depth to the flavour of dishes such as curry, soups, or sauces.

Preparing a fenugreek infusion is exceptionally simple. Pour a cup of boiling water over two teaspoons of fenugreek seeds and cover it for about half an hour. The infusion can be consumed both hot and cold.

However, it's important to remember that before using fenugreek, especially for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, or those taking medications, consulting a doctor is advisable.
