A tragic end to a dining experience unfolded at an Indian restaurant when a 27-year-old Englishman died shortly after eating a chicken curry, despite attempts at resuscitation.

As reported by "India Times", Joseph Higginson, the 27-year-old, started his meal only to experience a severe bodily reaction moments later. Nut ingredients in the dish, which he had a known allergy to, were reported to be the cause.

Higginson had been aware of his allergy for two years. Although the restaurant staff had informed him about the dish's ingredients, he proceeded with his order. His previous encounters with the allergen hadn't caused severe reactions, leading him to underestimate the threat of his allergy. This decision ignored strict medical advice advising against such risks.

"India Times" detailed that after just a taste of the dish, Higginson collapsed from an anaphylactic shock. Efforts to resuscitate him, including an adrenaline injection administered by his sister, were futile; his heart ceased to beat.

Death under investigation

Authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances leading to this tragic event. Initial reports confirm his death was triggered by consuming almonds.

Higginson was a mechanic by profession. Before his burial, he was autopsied at his family's request, which led to their decision to donate his organs, including his heart and kidneys, for transplantation.

In sharing their story, the family aims to highlight the importance of taking allergies seriously, emphasizing the potentially fatal consequences of underestimating such conditions.
