Selecting the right underwear

Chi Li categorises four basic female body shapes: apple, hourglass, pear, and rectangle. Based on these, she details what type of underwear should be chosen by women of different forms.

If you have a slightly bulging stomach, larger breasts, and no waist indentation - a form commonly referred to as an "apple," the expert discourages the use of high-leg underwear. Instead of thongs, she suggests opting for fuller or higher briefs to emphasise the waist and shape the entire figure.

The same applies to the "hourglass" body shape, though here too, high-leg styles are discouraged; fuller coverage options work better. Classic briefs or hipster-style underwear harmonise best with the hourglass figure.

The ideal underwear for your figure

Does your figure resemble a pear shape? With this type of body shape, you won't have to fret too much. Thongs or French-cut knickers (those with a shorter leg) will superbly highlight your figure and contours. You'll feel much more assured.

The final body type, rectangle, is often viewed as the most perplexing for many. Is it truly perplexing though? Not necessarily. For rectangular body shapes, it's recommended not to opt for styles that cover too much. Experiment with thongs or cheeky knickers (these provide slightly less coverage at the rear, yet still considerably more than thongs). This will assist in emphasising your hips.
