Elon Musk debunks claims of building Texas family compound
Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, is capable of confidently investing in real estate. According to sources, he recently acquired a luxury residential complex in Texas. As per his ambitious plans, it is intended to house 15 people. The businessman has already responded to these claims.
Elon Musk continues to strengthen his position at the top of the world's wealthiest individuals, steadily expanding his impressive fortune. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index, published last week, indicates that he has amassed over $270 billion, largely from shares in the automotive giant Tesla. These shares are increasing in value at an impressive rate, resulting in a rise of $33.5 billion last Thursday alone.
The technological tycoon, also known as the "modern Midas," is renowned not only for his enviable business acumen. His domain also includes strong views and eccentric ideas, which he implements without hesitation. In 2020, he almost overnight divested himself of all luxuries, selling five of his residences for hundreds of millions of dollars. However, rather than investing in more real estate, he moved into a modest, small house that never reflected his substantial material wealth.
Is Elon Musk planning to bring his entire family together in one place?
According to journalists from the New York Times, Musk supposedly acquired a $35 million residential complex in Austin, Texas. To earn such an amount, Elon Musk requires just under 16 hours.
The main feature is a luxury villa with 14,639 square feet, architecturally reminiscent of grand residences in the Italian region of Tuscany. Behind it lies an equally impressive property with six bedrooms. The purchase of these two separate residential buildings was purportedly driven by a desire to provide accommodation for the 53-year-old's former partners, including Shivon Zilis, an employee of his neurotechnology company Neuralink, and singer Grimes, as well as their six children together.
Elon Musk allegedly offered separate accommodation to his first wife, Justine, who gave birth to twins in 2004 and had triplets two years later. The billionaire's eldest child reportedly did not even consider this proposal. It is widely known that their relationship with their father is not in good standing.
Elon Musk denies the media reports
The South African businessman promptly reacted to the news published in the American newspaper. Between the lines, it can be understood that he has no intention of strengthening family ties. He denied plans to gather all his former partners and children in one place.
I don't own, nor am I building a compound in Austin - he assured.
The financial mogul emphasised his desire to expand his influence in Texas. Naturally, his motives are strictly business-oriented.
I do have an idea for a big futuristic art project in the Austin area that would be open to the public but have had too much work to get that going - he confirmed in a statement sent to Page Six.
Elon Musk added that he does not count himself among the readers of the "New York Times," which first reported on the ambitious plan of the father of many.
