Right after the attack on Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk on Friday, four suspects were arrested for their involvement in the terrorist attack.
As Insider Paper reports, Russia has now arrested the eighth person.
On Sunday evening, a Moscow court released a statement indicating that four suspects will be awaiting trial for the next two months in custody. It is likely that additional detainees will join them.
The men are accused of terrorism and face life in prison. Temporary custody is set to last until May 22 or longer if the trial takes place at a later date. However, it has not been determined when it would be. The independent portal Meduza reported that all detainees have confessed to the charges.
Attack in Russia
On Friday, an attack occurred at the Crocus City Hall concert venue, where several hundred people were gathered. The attackers opened fire, then set the building on fire and fled. At least 137 people were killed, and over 180 were injured.
The Islamic State Khorasan Province, also known as ISIS-K or ISKP, claimed responsibility for the attack on Friday. This group had also planned another attack in early March, on a synagogue in Moscow. At that time, the FSB neutralized the terrorists.
