Drones and alarms: Russian regions hit amid Ukraine conflict
Unsettled night in Russia and in the territories of Ukraine occupied by it. Sounds of explosions were heard in Voronezh, Crimea, Anapa, Belgorod, Saratov, and Lipetsk.
In the videos shared online, drones can be heard approaching, and explosions can be seen. Due to the threat, the Russians decided to close the Crimean Bridge to car traffic. Telegram messages reported a "mass drone attack on the peninsula," according to the Ukrainska Pravda portal.
The Telegram channel Crimean Wind also reported that an alarm signal was activated in military units stationed in Sevastopol. A helicopter was heard flying over the city. The Russians also decided to scramble military aircraft to assist air defence.
Air raid alarms also sounded in the Voronezh, Kursk, Saratov, and Lipetsk regions, where drones were reported. An alarm was also announced in Novorossiysk - the main Russian commercial port on the Black Sea. A large portion of the Black Sea Fleet is also stationed there.
"The attack on the region began around 0:30 AM. Several cities came under attack simultaneously. Residents of Anapa report that the warning system in the city is operational. In Novorossiysk, a fire broke out following one of the explosions," reports the Baza channel.
There are currently no reports of losses or casualties.
