"Our air defense forces in Taganrog repelled a massive drone attack" - wrote at 12:30 AM GMT, the governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev. A total of 24 drones flew over the city. Alarmed Russians on Telegram channels started reporting "powerful explosions," "the sound of approaching drones," and "handgun shots." Numerous videos also appeared online.

The explosions in the city lasted about 30-40 minutes.

Damage to Taganrog Aviation

"Residents counted about 20 explosions. The potential target of the drones could have been a local aviation-technical complex, dealing with the repair of the Russian Federation's long-range aviation" - writes the TSN portal.

As the Astra channel reports, citing local Telegram channels, drones caused damage to the scientific and technical complex Taganrog Aviation.

Before 2 AM GMT, the governor of the Rostov region added that the air defense units "repelled another attack in the sky over the Rostov region." "Several drones were destroyed during their approach to Morozovsk," he said.

He added that according to preliminary information, an employee of the Ministry for Emergency Situations, who was involved in damage control, was injured in the attack. "The victim was taken to the hospital, his life is not in danger" - wrote Golubev.

Explosions over Kursk

The attack also took place in the Kursk region. Governor Roman Starovoyt reported that in Kursk, debris from a shot-down Ukrainian drone fell on the roof of a clinic, destroying about 22 square metres of the roof. "There were no casualties" - he wrote on Telegram.

47 Drones in One Night

The governor added that due to the explosion risk, patients from the intensive care unit of a neighboring hospital building were evacuated by ambulances and helicopters to other medical facilities.

As the Russian Ministry of Defense reported in the morning, air defenses destroyed or intercepted as many as 47 drones.

"One drone was shot down over the Belgorod region, two over the Kursk region, three over the Volgograd region. The most intensive raid took place in the Rostov region - there, Russian air defense forces shot down 41 drones" - we read in the MoD statement.
