How should one maintain stainless steel appliances?

Stainless steel, also known as INOX, is commonly used in the production of refrigerators, dishwashers, sinks, cookers, and even furniture intended for use in professional kitchens. Regrettably, steel tends to show dirt and marks easily. A mere touch on its surface can leave a noticeable trace.

The secret lies in regular cleaning. Simply wipe it with a soft microfiber cloth using a small amount of mild detergent. Even for stubborn dirt, avoid using the popular "scrubbers", as they scratch the steel's surface, causing minor damage that often cannot be undone.

Mix two ingredients and wipe away

Although stainless steel is an exceptionally resistant and durable material, scratches can still appear on it. Such scratches are frequently seen on fridges. Fortuitously, there's a solution to erase them. Just prepare a homemade cleaning paste to remove minor surface scratches.

Only two ingredients are required - ordinary, non-bleaching toothpaste and oil. Gently rub the toothpaste onto the surface using a soft toothbrush. Afterwards, remove it using a damp microfiber cloth. Finish by polishing the surface with a soft cloth lightly doused with oil. This will not only leave your appliance smooth and shiny but the oil will also provide additional protection against future scratches.
