On Thursday morning, on the steps of the Cemetery Mausoleum of Soviet Soldiers, one could witness a disturbing scene as unidentified individuals spilt blood and scattered bones. This unsettling act occurred just before noon on 9 May, Victory Day, when it is customary for the Russian ambassador to lay flowers at the obelisk.

Biełsat reported that these unidentified perpetrators targeted the area around the obelisk at the Cemetery Mausoleum of Soviet Soldiers. This site traditionally welcomes the Russian ambassador and his colleagues on 9 May, who come to lay flowers in commemoration.

"Euromaidan Warsaw" activists had planned a protest for the same day. The aim was to confront the Russian ambassador with the consequences of Russia's actions in Ukraine. Specifically, the protest featured Ukrainian women in white gowns bearing the names of fallen soldiers and cities that have been destroyed or occupied. This poignant display also included wives mourning their husbands who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine's freedom.

By noon, Sergey Andreev, the Russian ambassador, arrived at the cemetery. Protesters were also present, ready to express their opposition.

Last year, Andreev was barred from entering the cemetery

It's worth noting that last year, the scene in front of the Cemetery Mausoleum of Soviet Soldiers was markedly different. Several hundred individuals gathered, anticipating the ambassador's arrival. An anti-war demonstration, officially reported by a private individual to the city hall, started at 9 a.m.

Before the ambassador could reach the cemetery, mock-ups representing bombed buildings from cities like Bakhmut, Mariupol, Bucha, Kherson, and Irpin were displayed. Additionally, symbolic graves for murdered Ukrainians, smeared with red paint to symbolize blood, were placed prominently. The sound of alarm sirens further intensified the atmosphere, and bombings played through a loudspeaker.

Upon reaching the cemetery gates, Russian Ambassador Sergey Andreev found his entrance obstructed and could not lay flowers as planned. Surrounded by journalists, he resorted to repeating propagandist statements before eventually departing.
