Russia. Brake failure the cause of the tragedy?
Unofficial reports on social media suggest that the cause of the accident could have been a brake failure in one of the trams. This tram, moving at high speed, collided with the other tram. Footage from a surveillance camera posted on platform X shows the speeding tram and a person who falls out of the vehicle under the wheels of cars.
The city tram company issued a statement to the media denying that the tram involved in the accident was faulty. The local portal VSE42 provided this information.
