Clashes outside Netanyahu's residence as Israelis demand action on Gaza prisoners
Thousands of people clashed with the police during a protest in front of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence in West Jerusalem. The demonstrators, which included relatives of Israelis imprisoned by Hamas in the Gaza Strip and anti-government groups, demanded that the Israeli government negotiate with Hamas for the release of those imprisoned by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, as reported by the Turkish agency Anadolu. The chanting crowd marched to the official residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Azza Street.

Road barricades were set up. One of the protestors hurled a blazing torch towards the officers, among whom were mounted units. The officers were reported to be dragging protestors along the ground. One of the injured is the daughter-in-law of an Israeli POW, Ayala Metzger. "We have been relying on you for half a year, and nothing has happened. You have time, but the prisoners do not," Metzger conveyed to the prime minister.
Clashes with the police: Three arrests
The authorities attempted to halt protestors trying to push through the barriers before Netanyahu's residence. Some of the protestors were reportedly subjected to beating. The police announced that three individuals had been arrested. An officer suffered injuries. An investigation is in progress.
Following the protests held on March 31, demonstrators erected hundreds of tents in front of the Knesset in Jerusalem, where they remain. Protestors are calling for the resignation of Netanyahu's government, early elections, and the repatriation of Israelis imprisoned in the Gaza Strip.
