Artificial intelligence is currently the most popular trend in web browsers. At the start of 2023, Microsoft Edge integrated with Copilot. As a result, a side panel for this virtual assistant was introduced to the browser, making it easy to launch at any moment. Moreover, Copilot also gained a function in the context menu, allowing inputting commands related to the selected text. Following Microsoft's lead, Opera promoted its smart assistant, Aria.
So far, Chrome has lagged behind its competitors regarding integration with AI. Upon opening this browser, it was difficult to notice that it was developed by the company that created Gemini—a direct competitor for ChatGPT, Copilot, and Aria. However, now the situation is starting to change.
Gemini finally integrated with Chrome
Google recently announced that its artificial intelligence system, Gemini, has been integrated with Chrome's address bar. Now, users can issue AI commands by typing "@gemini" followed by the appropriate command in the address bar without visiting the service's website.
Although typing seven characters might seem to require more effort than a single click, as is the case with Edge or Opera, it is a step forward. Google proudly announced that it has expanded the availability of the Gemini app on Android - it will now be accessible in over 100 countries. However, this list still does not include the European Union. Fortunately, the process of installing Gemini is very simple and intuitive.
