The shocking event took place early in the afternoon on Monday (10 June). In front of one of the Berlin blocks of flats, witnesses found a shattered container used for transporting cats.

The container was thrown from the third floor. What concerned the passers-by was the faint moaning inside the container. When one of the witnesses looked inside, they were utterly shocked. Inside the carrier was a small child.

A little later, it was revealed that it was a 21-month-old girl. The child survived the fall but sustained severe injuries. Unofficial reports by the press indicate that she has broken arms and legs.

Berlin. Immediate response of services to the child's plight

Police responded immediately. They quickly determined where the container with the child had been thrown from. They found a young woman and another child when they entered the identified apartment.

It was determined that she was the mother of the girl thrown out of the window. The woman was detained.

For now, it is not known whether she threw the carrier. The police have not disclosed her details, nationality, or age.
