Cheesy pull-apart bread: The perfect party delight
Pull-apart bread is delightful even before it has entirely cooled down, and it's just as enjoyable when cold, making it ideal for a party table. It vanishes in no time as everyone eagerly reaches for a piece. The aromatic butter with parsley and roasted garlic is an excellent choice.

Pull-apart bread is a favourite at any gathering, and in its cheesy form, it certainly surpasses the classic version. It's soft, delicate, and wonderfully buttery—a perfect snack or dinner option. The secret to the perfect butter lies in roasted garlic. Roasting it transforms the garlic into a creamy and milder version, which is a perfect complement to the butter and parsley. I can't think of a better party snack.
Pull-apart bread with butter and cheese
As soon as your guests take their first bite, you'll hear nothing but sighs of delight. It’s the best proof that you don’t need many ingredients or complicated recipes to impress your guests.
Thanks to the cheese that melts during baking, every bite is exceedingly juicy and aromatic, and the golden, crispy crust provides a magnificent contrast to the soft interior. This simple snack never loses its charm.
Ingredients:
Dough:
- 400g plain flour,
- 180ml warm milk,
- 14g fresh yeast,
- 20g sugar,
- 1 egg,
- 1 teaspoon salt,
- 30g soft butter.
Rest of the ingredients:
- 2 heads of garlic,
- 2 tablespoons olive oil,
- 200g soft butter,
- 1 bunch of parsley,
- 1 teaspoon salt,
- 200g grated mozzarella.
Instructions:
Step 1. Sift the plain flour into a bowl. Make a well in the centre and add crumbled yeast, sugar, and warm milk. Mix the ingredients and let the mixture sit for 20 minutes.
Step 2. After this time, transfer the dough to a bowl, add salt and egg, and start kneading the dough, adding the soft butter gradually. When it becomes smooth, cover it with a cloth and set it aside to rise for 1 hour.
Step 3. Place the two heads of garlic on aluminium foil, drizzle with olive oil, and wrap. Put them in an oven preheated to 200°C for 40 minutes. During baking, the garlic cloves soften, becoming creamy and acquiring a sweet, caramelised aroma.
Step 4. Prepare the parsley. The leaves can be most easily separated from the thick stem by pulling them through a strainer.
Step 5. Chop the parsley and mix it with the roasted garlic squeezed out of the skins and the soft butter.
Step 6. Sprinkle the countertop with flour and transfer the risen dough. Roll it out into a large rectangle and spread the prepared garlic and parsley butter over it. Sprinkle the entire surface with the grated cheese. Cut into rectangles, which is easiest to do with a pizza cutter.
Step 7. Take several pieces, stack them on top of each other, and place them vertically into a loaf tin measuring approximately 10cm x 30cm. Repeat the process until the dough is used up. Place in an oven preheated to 170°C for 40 minutes.
Step 8. After this time, the bread is ready to be pulled apart, shared, and enjoyed. Bon appétit!
