Cavtat crowned Europe's top destination: The Dalmatian gem

It's impossible to count the number of treasures Croatia has. Each town seems more beautiful than the last. But one thing is certain: Currently, the top destination is Cavtat, which is recognized as the most exclusive travel destination in Europe, according to Croatian television Nova.

Located in Dalmatia, Cavtat has been compared to the French Saint-Tropez and the Italian Tuscany.

Admiration for the Croatian gem

"The picturesque, charming town is probably the most renowned location in the Konavle region and is just 11 miles from the famous Dubrovnik. In the old town centre, there are many delightful cafes and restaurants. No wonder Cavtat topped the list of the most exclusive destinations in Europe this year," wrote the popular portal European Best Destinations, quoted by Croatian television Nova.

Officially, Cavtat is not a town but a village, yet it certainly doesn't lack atmosphere. Tourists and residents love to stroll along the promenade, where one can sit for coffee or ice cream. The area is also rich in historical sites like the Church of St. Nicholas or the Rector's Palace. Luxury yachts dock in the harbour, impressing strolling tourists and indicating that Cavtat is a popular spot for the wealthy.

Near Dubrovnik

Cavtat is located in southern Dalmatia in the Konavle municipality, about 12 miles from Dubrovnik. In the first seven months of this year, around 100,000 tourists visited this part of the country, 6,000 more than last year, reported the Croatian Tourist Board, quoted by Nova television.
