Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reject 'lovers' film proposal
For years, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been among the most famous couples in Hollywood. However, for some time now, they have been embroiled in legal battles regarding their divorce and winery.
Brad Pitt is not keen on considering the offer allegedly proposed to the couple by producer Danny Rossner. He reportedly planned to invite the star and his ex-wife Angelina Jolie to the set. People close to the actor called the whole situation a "publicity stunt."
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie together on screen again? Absurd offer
Of course, adding to the intrigue is that in Rossner's film, the duo would play... lovers. The production was supposed to tell the story of the real hotelier Emmanuel Martinez, who founded the Hotel Martinez in Cannes.
According to the Daily Mail, Rossner "believes" that the former spouses will be able to "set aside their differences" to help fulfil his 20-year-old dream project. However, this seems unlikely—at least according to those close to Pitt.
He is currently involved in legal battles with Angelina Jolie. Since 2016, they have been trying to finalise their divorce, and the contentious issue remains their winery, Château Miraval. This situation leads informants to tell the Daily Mail that there's "no chance" Pitt would "chase after money" to work with someone who has caused him so much pain.
"All the money in the world wouldn't convince Brad to star in a film with Angelina," the informants say. "It would definitely generate interest, but there's no chance he would be interested."
They added, "Currently, they are fierce enemies, so there's no chance Brad would sell out and talk to Angie on screen for any amount of money. She caused him so much pain that he doesn't even like talking about her with close friends."
Another source said that Rossner's offer was merely a "clever marketing stunt," but "neither party took it seriously."
"There was never any real offer," an informant revealed.
The divorce proceedings between Jolie and Pitt have been dragging on since September 2016. At one point, the actor lost the ability to see his children. In 2019, the court annulled their marriage, but since then, they are still fighting over the aforementioned Château Miraval winery. Neither of them wants to part with it.
