US President Joe Biden sent a short message to Iran, which threatened to take military action against Israel. - Don't - the American president said on Friday when reporters asked about the matter.

"US is devoted to defending Israel and Iran will not succeed - added Biden.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken echoed this sentiment on Wednesday evening, assuring, after speaking with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, that the United States stands with Israel in the face of any threats from Iran.

Attack from Lebanese territory on northern Israel

On Friday evening, towards the northern regions of Israel, more than 40 rockets were fired from Lebanon. The Israeli army responded to the shelling, issuing an official statement on the matter on its social media.

"About 40 objects were detected coming from the territory of Lebanon. Some of them were intercepted. The rest fell on open ground. As a result of the shelling, no casualties were reported. Earlier that same day, our fighters successfully intercepted two Hezbollah drones that came from the territory of Lebanon" - the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) informed in a statement.

The shelling from Lebanon occurs at a time when US authorities expect that an Iranian attack on Israel might take place in retaliation for a strike on an Iranian facility in Damascus, as reported by CBS News on Friday, citing two administration officials.

Iran may strike using more than a hundred drones and dozens of missiles - claims Washington.
