Biden steps down: Harris gains Curry's backing ahead of Olympics

Joe Biden has decided not to run in the upcoming presidential elections in the USA. The current president indicated that he would support Kamala Harris's candidacy, who also has the trust of Stephen Curry, among others. American basketball star Stephen Curry on Thursday, July 25th, supported Kamala Harris's candidacy for the White House and expressed his belief that the United States team's successful performance in Paris could help unite a divided nation.

It’s a very interesting time for our country, for sure. Vice President Harris is primed to bring her energy to this campaign and, hopefully, if she’s on the ticket, winning the election, it’s a big deal, to say the least, he added.

Curry firmly disagrees with Donald Trump's policies. A few years ago, he did not appear at the White House when the "Warriors" won the NBA championship, and Trump was the sitting president. His views align much more with Kamala Harris, and he hopes she will become the new president of the USA.

Harris or Trump? The latest poll shows the winner

Although Harris is not an official candidate, polling firms have already conducted surveys. According to a poll by Siena College and the "New York Times," Donald Trump currently holds the most support - 48% want to vote for him. But the difference is minimal. Kamala Harris wants to vote 47%.

This is very good news for the Democrats. At the beginning of July, after an unfortunate debate and a few missteps, Biden trailed Trump by six percentage points.

Democrats will officially choose a candidate at the convention in August. According to the NYT poll, voters expect the party to consolidate and support Harris. 70% of those voting for the Democratic Party expect this. 14% would like another candidate.
