Do you enjoy tanning? In that case, it's better to avoid certain popular food products. Among these are also vegetables and fruits that we often indulge in while on holiday. It turns out they can cause serious photosensitivity.

When we return from holiday, we bring many souvenirs, including a beautiful tan that we proudly show off later. Before you decide to sunbathe, ensure that you use the right sunscreen and products that won't cause photosensitivity. The list is longer than it may seem.
How to recognise photosensitivity?
Photosensitivity, also known as photoallergy, can be recognised by changes on the skin that appear after prolonged exposure to the sun. This is related to UVA radiation, which, in combination with medications, cosmetics, or food products, can cause an allergic reaction.
These can manifest as redness, blisters, burning, itching, and even blisters, so it's worth minimising the risk of them occurring. After all, they look unappealing and affect our quality of life.
Do not eat these products before tanning
Before we start tanning, we need to remember some basic rules that can protect us from photosensitivity. First and foremost, don't leave the house without applying sunscreen, which will protect your skin from the sun. Sunglasses and a hat are also extremely important. However, this may sometimes not be enough.
Few people know that you should also pay attention to the products you consume just before tanning. We should be particularly careful with carrots, celery, lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruits, and tangerines. It is after consuming these and exposing yourself to the sun that you can get photosensitivity.
