The 2023/2024 season for Beşiktaş Istanbul turned out to be bittersweet. This team changed its coach no fewer than five times during the season. Even the former manager of the Polish national team, Fernando Santos, held the position for a period, but the Portuguese quickly parted ways with the job.

Next season, Beşiktaş will play in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers regardless of the result of their last match in the Turkish Super Lig. Even though the league competition will, at best, end with a 4th place finish, the club still walked away with a trophy.

In the Turkish Cup final, Beşiktaş proved to be better than Trabzonspor, with a score of 3-2. Thus, they won this competition after three years. The title meant the players and the fans celebrated the victory wildly.

Turkish club fans decided to use this opportunity to appeal to the chairman. During the celebration, fans chanted the name of the player they would like to see in Beşiktaş. The choice fell on Robert Lewandowski, an FC Barcelona player and the Polish national team captain.
