Belgorod chaos: Civilians panic and flee after missile activation

Recordings from city surveillance cameras in Belgorod showed civilians frantically seeking shelter after anti-missile systems were activated around the city. Meanwhile, Ukrainians commented: - First, there was a rush to the polls to vote for Putin, and then abandoning cars in the middle of the road to flee in search of shelter.

According to the Ukrainian portal Censor.NET, residents of the Russian Belgorod, upon hearing the sounds of anti-aircraft missile explosions, panicked and tried to seek shelter on the streets, hiding in makeshift shelters.

A recording of civilians fleeing in panic appeared online on 7 September. It shows drivers abandoning their cars in the middle of the road and running to hide in makeshift shelters set up at various points in the city.

The behaviour of Russians trying to hide from the attack is harshly commented on by Ukrainians online:

Let's remember that Ukrainian attacks on Belgorod Oblast and the region's capital have been ongoing since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and in 2023, the frequency of attacks increased to 30-40 monthly.

A massive Ukrainian attack on Belgorod took place at the end of August this year. Thirty-seven civilians were injured, including six children. Five people died as a result of the attack.
