Baywatch star, Nicole Eggert, battles rare cancer and regrets past breast enhancement

According to a report by PageSix, only a few weeks after diagnosing Nicole Eggert with an uncommon form of breast cancer (amounting to 0.3-0.6 per cent of all occurrences), the actress received yet another poor diagnosis. The worrying factor is the presence of cancerous cells in her lymph nodes as well. This was a heavy blow for Eggert, particularly arduous because she had a minor child under her care.

Eggert is a mother to two daughters. "Dilyn is now an adult, but I have a 12-year-old girl at home who I am solely responsible for. I don't have any relatives. I have nobody," she lamented to the "Daily Mail".

The actress does not attempt to conceal her disheartenment at not having periodically examined her breasts over many years. She neglected regular monitoring for changes in her body, which were only picked up during a recent medical examination. Eggert, who turned 52 this year in January, also rues her decision to have breast enhancement surgery.

"Had I not undergone enhancement and maintained my smaller, natural breasts, I reckon I would have detected it much earlier," admitted the actress. "It was an unwise choice made by an 18-year-old," she remarked on the subject of her enhancement surgery.

Nicole Eggert achieved worldwide recognition as a star of "Baywatch" in the early 90s. Despite featuring in almost 50 episodes (1992-1994), she had already bagged many roles before that—her association with television dates back to her childhood. In the late 80s, she joined the series "Charles in Charge" cast, taking part in over 100 episodes. Post-"Baywatch", she featured in several productions, but none of her subsequent engagements garnered much attention.
