In the daily hustle and bustle, we sometimes neglect regular skincare, particularly for our feet. In winter, they are hidden away in woollen socks and warm shoes, and they rarely meet the smooth standards often seen in advertisements. However, there is a method that can improve the condition of your feet's skin faster than expensive cosmetics—and without spending a fortune at the shop. The needed item is likely already in your kitchen cupboard.

Do your heels feel as coarse as a grater? During the autumn and winter, they are "condemned" to prolonged confinement in shoes, often damp. How can you remedy this? You don’t need to rush to the pharmacy or cosmetics shop to find the perfect solution. It’s worthwhile to sift through the products you already have. Our recommendation is baking powder, which you probably have in your kitchen.

It turns out that baking powder is not just for baked goods. It can also be used to prepare a foot soak.

How to prepare a baking powder bath

Simply dissolve one tablespoon of baking powder in two pints of water, and then soak your feet for about 10 to 15 minutes. Afterwards, thoroughly clean your feet and apply a moisturising cream. This bath can be used two to three times a week.

Soaking your feet in a mixture of water and baking powder smooths the skin, eliminates unpleasant odours and soothes irritations. The skin becomes delicate and soft, ready for further care, such as the removal of dead skin.
