Baked potatoes are not only a superb accompaniment to many dishes. When prepared this way, they are so delicious that you can serve them with just one sauce, and everyone will be delighted. Potatoes with a flavour reminiscent of those from a campfire evoke memories of summer evenings by the fire with every bite.

Baked potatoes with a crispy skin

Nothing compares to potatoes wrapped in foil and tossed into a fire. They boast a crispy skin, and inside, they are soft and almost creamy. For many, baked potatoes are a nostalgic return to childhood, when they were enjoyed during summer evenings. Now, you can recreate that taste without lighting a fire, as everything can be prepared in the oven.

To recapture childhood memories, you need only three ingredients: salt, potatoes, and plain flour. The flour provides the crispy skin reminiscent of summer campfire flavours.

These prepared potatoes make a great accompaniment to many meat dishes, but they can also serve as a standalone dish with a fried egg. The preparation process is straightforward and requires minimal effort, and the result is delicious.

Baked potatoes like from a fire

Ingredients:

  • 700-900 grams of potatoes (or as much as you need for your family)
  • 3 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Preparation Method:

  1. Thoroughly wash the potatoes, scrubbing the skin. Do not peel them, even if they are not new potatoes. It's best to choose small or medium-sized ones.
  2. Mix the plain flour with salt in a bowl and add the still wet potatoes.
  3. Cover the bowl with a plate and shake well to thoroughly coat the potatoes with flour.
  4. Line a baking tray with baking parchment and arrange the potatoes on it.
  5. Bake them in an oven preheated to 200°C for about 1 hour, checking the softness with a fork. Depending on the size of the potatoes, the baking time may slightly increase.
  6. After baking, take out the potatoes and transfer them to a plate. Do not add more salt as there is enough in the coating. After cutting the potatoes, you can add a bit of butter, which will further enhance the flavour.
