Russian media report that the soldier escaped from the military unit on Oganova Street in Rostov-on-Don.
The channel "What's in Rostov" writes that the car where the soldier was last seen was on the city's outskirts. The police have not officially commented on this information so far.
Interception is a general term used in Russia to establish warning signals to gather police personnel for "urgent operational activities".
After the plan is initiated, an operational group is created to coordinate all activities in the search area. For "interception," only forces regularly maintaining public order in the specified territory can be involved. However, additional units from the region can be mobilised if the action commander deems it necessary.
In addition to Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) units, the operational group can alert other services equipped with radio communication about the "interception" – taxis, emergency services, etc.- and receive directions to the sought-after vehicle.
