Analysts' suspicions were confirmed - Apple revealed two versions of the iPad Air during the Let Loose event. The main difference between them is the screen size. The biggest novelty turned out to be the iPad Air with a 33 cm diagonal. Below are details about the specifications and prices of these tablets.

More than three years have passed since the last version of the iPad Air was introduced, but we have finally seen new versions of this device. This time, Apple decided to reward our patience, presenting not one but two new models – a smaller one with a 28 cm screen and a larger one with a 33 cm diagonal.

Differences in size affect the appearance and other aspects of the devices' operation.

What do the new iPad Airs look like?

Starting with the colours – the new iPad Airs are available in four shades:

- blue,
- purple,
- "midnight starlight",
- "space grey".

The smaller model's dimensions are identical to those of its predecessor, measuring about 25 x 18 x 0.61 cm. The version with a 33 cm diagonal measures approximately 28 x 21.5 x 0.61 cm.

As analysts predicted, the front camera has been moved to the longer side and positioned horizontally. This makes it easier to use its features when using the tablet with the Magic Keyboard or another accessory.

Technical specifications of the iPad Air 5

Since we're talking about the front camera, Apple has used an ultra-wide 12 MP lens with an ƒ/2.4 aperture, which supports Smart HDR 4 and allows for video recording in 1080p at 25 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps.

Both models have an LED-backlit LCD screen, Liquid Retina, supporting the wider P3 colour gamut and the True Tone feature. Moreover, it has an oleophobic coating to prevent fingerprint marks. The screen resolution of the smaller model is 2360 by 1640 pixels at 264 pixels per inch, and that of the larger model is 2732 by 2048 pixels, also at 264 pixels per inch.

The performance in both models is powered by the Apple Silicon M2 processor, which is also used in the MacBook Air and Pro.

Additionally, the rear camera is worth mentioning. Both the smaller and larger models have the same lens—a wide-angle 12 MP camera with 5x digital zoom. In conclusion, the iPad Airs are equipped with Wi-Fi 6E.
