When thinking of cola with chips, most of us immediately imagine it served as a drink to accompany the meal. Few people, however, know it can also be helpful in their preparation. How can it be used to improve the taste of chips? It's more straightforward than it seems.

Why is it worth adding Coca-Cola to chips?

Coca-Cola is one of those drinks that can be used in many different ways. For example, it is used for cleaning various surfaces. Not everyone knows that it can also be used as one of the ingredients needed to prepare homemade chips.

Thanks to cola, the potatoes become crispy on the outside and soft on the inside after frying. Many people dreaming of such chips often opt for pre-made frozen products. However, combined with cola, you can quickly achieve this effect by making them from scratch.

Recipe for chips with Coca-Cola

To prepare chips with Coca-Cola, we need approximately 1 pound of raw potatoes and 2 pints of cola. First, peel the vegetables and cut them into medium-thick strips. Before proceeding to the next step, rinse the potatoes in clean, cold water to remove any potential dirt.

Once this is done, you need an empty, medium-sized bowl to place the cut vegetables and cover them with cola. After 15 minutes, you can lay the potatoes on a paper towel to remove the excess drink.

Finally, just fry them in deep fat and enjoy delicious, homemade chips.
