The lives of the fabulously wealthy have fascinated society for years. Excessive frugality, especially when practised by people who boast an exceptionally privileged financial position, can stir up even more emotions. An excellent example is, without a doubt, the life of Aimee Elizabeth.
The American millionaire became known through the show "Extreme Cheapskates" aired on TLC. The 51-year-old Aimee Elizabeth has a fortune worth £4.3 million. While many people would spend such funds on exclusive villas, exotic holidays, or designer clothes, the millionaire has a somewhat unconventional approach to managing her finances.
The world's stingiest millionaire
The Las Vegas resident set a goal for her monthly expenses not to exceed £820. She has developed her own methods for achieving this. As it turns out, Aimee Elizabeth only takes a shower at specific times, additionally with a watch in hand. Moreover, she has been washing dishes for years with the same sponge, which she claims she wants to “wear out” before buying a new one. It is worth mentioning that the millionaire washes her dishes only in cold water.
I have the water heater turned off. It takes me 22 minutes to heat it up for a morning shower. I turn it on every morning and set it for 22 minutes, so I know exactly when everything is ready. Heaven forbid I waste another minute heating it - she says.
Millionaire served guests pet food
The millionaire from "Extreme Cheapskates" has perfected the art of saving, even in dietary matters. The 51-year-old resorts to rather radical measures to spend as little as possible. Aimee eats what her cat eats: cans of ground tuna and chicken intended for animals. There have been situations where the food intended for the pet was even eaten by her guests.
Once she made me a tuna sandwich, but I felt something was wrong... - her friend said in front of the camera.
However, Aimee Elizabeth is aware that not everyone may share her enthusiasm for saving. The American millionaire also does not hide that her loved ones have already turned a blind eye to her extreme approach to saving. The 51-year-old is, however, proud of herself because, thanks to her methods, she manages to save money every month.
